Château Jean Faux produces this Bordeaux Supérieur from 12 hectares of old vines, a quarter of a century old.
The terroir is that of Saint-Radégonde, under Castillon-la-Bataille, with hillsides and clay-limestone plateaus that are well exposed. Merlot (4/5) and Cabernet Franc (1/5) are present.
After manual harvesting, the vinification is carried out in small cement and stainless steel tanks. The ageing is double: 12 to 14 months in new oak barrels at 40% and 6 months in vats, to harmonize the batches.
This is how a wine is born on black and red fruits, with fullness, generosity and balance. There are also beautiful woody notes.
